One of the main garages for Trent Barton buses had above-average water bills and the manager was searching for ways to reduce it.
Using LeakNet, they could see their monthly consumption rate, including contributions from different areas of the site, which allowed them to check if they were being charged the correct amount in their bills.
Just hours after the installation, the garage found that they were wasting 2,500 litres of water per day when the site was closed. The manager was alerted automatically and using the information given, was able to quickly find where the leaks were coming from.
Two months after installation, the garage had the leaks fixed by installing urinal controls. They were able to prove all the leaks were fixed using FlowReporter which showed zero leakage and a huge 58% reduction in their water bill
Continuous monitoring, coupled with automated alerts, is by far the best way to spot problems, minimise waste and keep bills low.
Trent Barton saved a total of £1,500 per year and had a payback period of fewer than 6 months.
